What is Hanscombe Performance?
Hanscombe Performance is the solution to my problems when I first started learning about fitness, health, and sports performance. It is about providing accessible and digestible fitness and performance resources that you can apply to your day-to-day life.
As with life, this is a journey that I want you to be a part of - regardless of whether you’re an experienced athlete or you’re balancing a healthy lifestyle with other commitments life throws at us.

Fitness can be easy to shrug off for a lot of people. When I played football growing up, the warm-ups (aka, running without a football) were the part of training I least looked forward to. Now, I run 20+ miles per week for fun and lift weights in the gym 5 times per week.
Even when I haven’t been competing in sports, finding the motivation to go out of my way to track calories, go to the gym, and generally exercise takes a back seat. I understand, but I want to give you a glimpse into the world of fitness and performance that has changed my life.
Rhys: A Brief History
I'm Rhys Hanscombe. Born within 0.5 miles of Fratton Park (Portsmouth Football Club’s stadium), sport has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I joined my local football team at 8 years old and continued on that journey to men’s football. Now, I compete in motorsport around the UK, and run long distances, and I’m a certified personal trainer with a deep passion for understanding how the human body works (and how I can help people achieve greatness in sports and life).
This blend of experience in multiple sports disciplines and my love for understanding how the body works allows me to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
When I started taking fitness seriously, I didn’t know where to start. In a world of endless contradicting information on the internet, I imagine you’re in a similar position - it’s impossible to differentiate the “right” information.
